Attention – What are you giving your attention to? What are your priorities? When your priorities are in line with what’s really important to your wellbeing, things just happen to work better.
1. Your spirit – Wake up and say Thank you. Live it Gratitude. Find the small things to be grateful for. Talk to God, meditate, pray, whatever it is that connects you to God – do it – everyday. We have to stay connected if we want to be happy, be positive, be grounded, be focused, be real, be humble, be present. Forgive, don’t hang on to the past, move on.
2. Your health – What are you putting into your body? Be very aware of this. Is what you are eating or drinking fueling you or is it poison for you? If you smoke, whatever it takes, QUIT. If you eat the bad stuff, QUIT – and we all know what the bad stuff is, it’s everywhere. Can you eat perfect all the time? Maybe not, but you can eat healthy most of the time. Be aware of everything you put into your body. Move, move your body. If you’re at the computer most of the day, stop every so often, get up and move, walk around. Get outside, look at the trees, smell fresh air. If there are no trees, look up at the sky, look at the clouds, look for the beauty that surrounds you.
3. Your family – Be present. Put your cell phones down and talk to each other. Stay connected. Hug each other, kiss each other, love each other. Laugh together, play together, eat together. Make being together an important priority. You never know when it will be the last time you see them.
4. Your work – Prioritize, make lists, do important things first, finish projects. Remember to stop during the day and breathe. Close your eyes and breathe. Unless your drive for UPS or you’re flying a plane, wait till you make a stop to breathe. Lol. But you know what I mean. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we are doing we forget to breathe. Remind yourself, what are you working for, why am I doing this?
Balance When you pay attention to these four things and keep them in the forefront of your mind you will be working toward creating balance in your life. We balance everyday. We multi-task, we take care of others needs, we do things we don’t want to do. Learn to say No to what you don’t have to do. If it’s something you really want to do then do it. But if in your mind you are saying why did I volunteer for this or why am I doing this, the next time something comes up, think before saying yes.
Creativity This is my favorite. When you pay Attentionto what’s important and work at havingBalance,it’s easier to tap into your Creativity. How do we become more creative?? We pay Attention, we Balanceand wePlay. You have to have some down time, some fun time, some play time. Carve out time for you. Whatever it is that’s fun for you. Turn on music and dance, get a canvas and a brush and do to town, go for a walk and take pictures, get together with friends, cook a beautiful meal, whatever it is that works for you. Do it!
“You can’t use up Creativity, the more you use, the more you have.” Maya Angelou
