I’ve been wanting to replace the TV cabinet in our Master Bedroom for a long time. So I decided to call my go to carpenter friend, Mike to build a custom cabinet. I wanted it tall enough so that we could see the TV while in bed, wide enough to fit the space in which it was going and I needed storage. So Voila!
My dilemma of course is what color or colors to paint it! I’m always painting furniture so I should have no problem right??? Wrong….
I’m so confused.
We have a neutral tan on the walls which I am seriously considering painting an antique white. The fabric on my headboard is an oatmeal linen.
The curtain panels have grays, bronze and off white in them and the rug is a yellowish tan that I want to replace with a gray patterned one. The nightstands and bench at the foot of the bed are a driftwood distressed finish. Soooooo. I was thinking about trying to do something close to that but I kind of want to do something different.
I posted this pic on facebook yesterday asking for your opinions and got so many answers.
Of course I love 4 the most but I have furniture painted pretty much like that already. 1 and 3 are out because I want something a little more dramatic. I love 2 but don’t want as much green. So I’m going to layer Heirloom Traditions Irish Cream and Thunderous. I may do a wash with Black bean too. After the paint is done I will decide which wax to use. Wish me luck!
I’ll be posting about my progress here.
