First I gathered together my supplies, The Venetian Texture Medium, Kelly’s Seaside Blue, French Vanilla, Scanda and Golden Glimmer Patina. If you want to order any of these products you can find them here at
Heirloom Traditions Paint Company.
These girls needed some restoration. I’ve been using them for work tables outside. They were pretty beat up. So I mixed the Venetian texture medium with French Vanilla. Mix 2 cups paint to 1 tablespoon of the medium. Mix with stir stick until you get the thickness you desire. You can always add more, but if you put too much at first you will end up with a big glob.
Here is the medium mixed with the paint applied to the table with paintbrush. I then painted the bottom of the table with Kelly’s Seaside blue.
After the Venetian texture dried, I did a wash of Scanda mixed with water.
I added the same wash of Scanda with water over the Kelly’s Seaside blue on the table base.
After that came the Metallic Golden Glimmer Patina. I love this stuff. It’s so yummy. I applied it randomly over the top and bottom of tables. What I really love is that when I did this step I started getting some wet distressing going on. Probably because I didn’t wait that long between coats.
And here they are in all their newfound glory. I call them Rustic Elegance.
They would work great as side tables.
Or as a desk.
I love the patina on these tables now.
I hope this inspires you to think outside the box. Just go for it. You can find all of these awesome products in my booth at Chic & Shabby, downtown Franklin or you can order by clicking on this link:

Love the transformation, Debbie! Venetian Texture Medium is wonderful stuff, and you put it to great use here. The end result is so soothingly weathered and comfortable looking. Love it!
