My good friend, Kathy and I were headed to the Dallas market from Louisiana. We decided on the way there we would take a detour and stop in Waco, Texas to visit the Magnolia Market. I have been a huge fan of Fixer Upper from the very beginning. I tape the shows and watch them over and over. I follow Joanna’s blog, their face book page and Instagram. When I watched the episode of them going to the Silos and Chip telling her that he had just made her dream come true. I cried. So much. They are so sweet. I know it’s just a tv show but you can tell they are good people and anything I can do to support them, I will.
So of course when the market opened I wanted to be there but that didn’t work out. I’m kind of glad I didn’t go then because it was crowded. The day that we visited it was a cloudy cold day in January. There were quite a bit of people there, but it wasn’t packed. It was perfect!
So after 8 1/2 hours of driving we finally got there!
This is what you see walking through the gates. The Market is on your left and the silos off to your right.
This is what you see when you walk through the doors.
Everywhere you look it’s beautiful. I didn’t take as many pics as I would have liked inside the shop, because I was just taking it all in. If you want to see more, you’ll just have to go visit. You won’t regret it.
This is my friend, Kathy! Thanks so much for coming with me on this trip!
I had to take a picture of this for my kids. ha ha
These are the signs we hear so much about. They look even better in person!
You walk through an opening in the store to a big warehouse to this.
Everyone there was so friendly.
Can you tell I was in a happy place?
Kathy caught me coming out of the store!
Ya’ll come visit!!!
Behind the store there is an open area where kids can run and play. There are food trucks and a coffee trailer. Sorry – I didn’t get pics of those.
We did get coffee while we were there and sat at a picnic table taking it all in.
This is what the market looks like from the side.
The restrooms were even cute!
Next we walked up to the garden.
There is still some construction going on. It’s a work in progress.
This building is next to the silos and will house their new bakery. Kathy was peeking in the windows. I think she was hoping to get a glimpse of Joanna or Chip.
This is the front of the coming bakery. It will be called Something Sweet. We will be taking another road trip when it opens 🙂
It took a long time to get there but it was so worth it. Such an inspiration for creative people.
I cannot wait for the Magnolia House to open for business. It’s is a bed and breakfast that Joanna, Chip and their team created by taking an old house and turning it into a thing of beauty. Once it’s open and I can book some rooms a girl’s trip will be planned and I will share it with you here on the blog.
You can visit the market online at Magnolia Market.
Click here to read Joanna’s blog post about their soft opening at the Market.
I hope you enjoyed the visit to Magnolia Market!
