I love our town. It’s one of the most beautiful places to visit. It’s quiet, relaxing and the people here are friendly and welcoming. One of my goals is to share with you the businesses here in Franklin and what we have to offer. Franklin is an awesome place to visit for a day trip. Great shops, good food, beautiful sights. If you come for an overnight trip or extended stay you can choose to stay at the The Fairfax House, The Best Western or The Quality Inn. Today I’m sharing pictures from The Fairfax House, our beautiful Bed & Breakfast.
The Fairfax House is owned by local Gary Bloom and is run by Cheryl Stiel. Cheryl is such a sweetheart and will cater to your every need. She makes the best breakfast too! Can you tell I love this place?? We even had my daughter’s wedding reception here last year. It’s a great place to rent by the day for bridal or baby showers, Retreats or meetings. There are four rooms and two suites to choose from. It’s a great place for a bridal party to spend the night before the big day and perfect for getting ready before a wedding.
On to the tour.
The Fairfax is located at 99 Main Street. It is right at the end of the Boulevard. You can’t miss it!
It’s nestled among old oak trees. This house was built in 1852.
This is just one of the many Antebellum homes in Franklin. You can learn more about these homes here at The City of Franklin website.
It’s just so majestic. It was originally named Shady Retreat, but today she is The Fairfax House.
You enter into this gorgeous foyer. The owner Gary Bloom renovated the house keeping the original look and feel while updating it with modern amenities.
When you walk in, to your right is the Living Room. You feel like you’ve just stepped back in time. It’s like a story book come to life.
Next to the Living room is the Dining room. Here it is set with two tables but can be set with one large table.
Behind the dining room is the Lounge area. Set with two leather chesterfield sofas. It’s a great place to have your cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
There is also a bar in the lounge area. Behind the bar are the restrooms.
The back porch is right off the lounge area. So relaxing.
There are two rooms to stay in downstairs. This is the Camellia Room. So beautiful! Each room has it’s own private bathroom.
This is the Azalea Room with easy access to the front porch and living room. Another beautiful space.
Then we move on to upstairs.
To your right when you get upstairs is a sitting area that faces the backyard. There are two rooms off of this area.
To the left is the other sitting area which has access to the upstairs balcony.
The beautiful view of Main Street from the balcony.
There are rockers and a swing to the left.
And rockers to the right too.
This is the first suite, The Murphy Suite. It has easy access to the upstairs balcony and a beautiful view of the front lawn and Main Street.
This is the Wisteria Room. All rooms come with flat screen T.V., wifi and luxury linens. The Wisteria Room is located toward the back of the house.
The Fairfax Suite is at the front of the house also with easy access to the upstairs balcony as well as the beautiful view.
The last room to visit is the Magnolia Room which is situated toward the back of the house with views of the backyard.
That is the end of our tour for today.
Meet Cheryl, your inn keeper. She will make suggestions for things to do and sights to see. She will also have a delicious breakfast waiting for you in the morning.
