I Spy With My Decorating Eye

I love the blog Dear Lillie.

I have been following Jennifer for a couple of years.

She has such a beautiful style and I am always inspired when I read her blog posts.  In one such post, I saw a gold tray on a dresser and she had it styled so simple yet beautiful. I love everything about the way she put it together.oDSC_4805GO AHEAD, PIN IT!

You can read her post here.

Don’t you love the finish on this dresser?  She got it at Soft Surroundings but it is no longer available.  But no worries, you can achieve this look with Heirloom Traditions Paint and finishes.

It looks like our Thunderous paint color with Clear Wax and The Golden Glimmer Guilding Patina on the trim. You can find these items here at Heirloom Traditions.

You can also take advantage of 10% off when you checkout by using my coupon code RESTORE.

Anyway, I wasn’t looking for the tray but when one of our vendors had a vintage one in her booth at Chic & Shabby, I knew I had to buy it.

So I took it home and it sat on this table in my office for a while.  Today I decided to do something with it.  I’m trying to organize my office and make it pretty instead of just a clutter collector.

So here it is today. I just used things I found around the house to style it with.

I found this painting at TJ Maxx. I love the colors and it goes well with what I’m going for in my home office.

I’m trying to create a soothing, relaxing environment in my office.  I need a calming place to work in because this mind is on fast forward all the time.
